John Lennon – Imagine
About the song
Imagine is one of the most iconic songs by John Lennon, the former member of the Beatles. It was released as a single in 1971, and later as the title track of his second solo album. The song expresses Lennon’s vision of a peaceful world without materialism, borders or religion. He was inspired by the poems of his wife, Yoko Ono, from her 1964 book Grapefruit, and she later received co-writing credit for the song in 2017. The song was recorded at Lennon’s home studio at Tittenhurst Park, England, with the help of producer Phil Spector. It became a huge commercial and critical success, and is widely considered one of the greatest songs of all time.
