She wrote the song in about 10 minutes, using a Fender Rhodes piano and a drum pattern. The song is about the breakup of her relationship with Lindsey Buckingham, the band’s guitarist. The song has a soft rock style and a dance beat. It was the band’s only number-one single in the US, and it also reached number one in Canada. The song was ranked number nine on Rolling Stone’s 2021 list of “The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time”.
